Join The Kindness Connection at Kirathon 2009
Kira was a warm, loving 13-year-old Wilmette Junior High student when she died in 2006. One of her many passions was art. Art therapy allowed her to express the feelings she was wrestling with, emotions that are unique to critically ill children. Every year, people come together to honor Kira and to raise funds for art therapy at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Join us on this special day and make meaningful projects to cheer up children in local hospitals.
Friday, May 29th 2009 - 4:30 to 6:30 pm
Festivities start at Mallinckrodt Park at 4:30 pm
1041 Ridge Road Wilmette, IL

Welcome to The Kindness Connection...
Where kindness educates, inspires and grows!
Our Mission
We believe that meaningful volunteer experiences have the power to inspire individuals to make a lifelong practice of giving their time and resources to charitable and civic causes.
The Kindness Connection (TKC) is an innovative non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to promoting volunteerism by connecting schools, groups, and/or individuals with those in need through service-learning activities. The Kindness Connection started as a vision of two Wilmette, IL mothers who wanted to find meaningful age-appropriate volunteer projects to do with their children, in order to teach their kids the values of giving back and of having compassion for others.
The Kindness Connection has reached over 5,100 children volunteers in over 25 schools and organizations in the last year and has delivered over 7,500 hand-made projects and over 3,800 hours to 15 organizations in the greater Chicagoland area.
