Thanks for joining us at our Annual MLK Day of Service! Close to 400 volunteers help make thousands of kindness connections for 10 local non-profit organizations.
The Kindness Connectionâ„ (TKC) is an innovative non-profit 501(c)3 organization that addresses a
unique niche in the volunteer service arena by specializing in the creation and
implementation of volunteer experiences that positively impact children in
grades K – 6.
"The Kindness
Connection motivates students to reflect upon their volunteer experiences and
inspires them to continue to give back to their community. Our school has fostered a community of
kindness through our TKC partnership." -Karen Evans, Principal Walker Elementary School, Evanston, IL
Personal Connections, Meaningful Experiences
TKC service
projects are aligned with the Illinois State Learning Standards and are
developed to cultivate the values of service while supporting student
achievement in social and emotional learning. That is one of the many
reasons elementary schools throughout the Chicago area utilize The Kindness
Connection's convenient service learning projects, curriculum and
resources.
Reaching Many Through Kindness
Since 2006, The Kindness Connection has
reached over 17,000 youth volunteers through 45 schools and organizations, and
delivered nearly 30,000 handmade projects to 30 non-profits around the world.
Additionally, TKC has hosted 12 public events, including its Annual Martin
Luther King Service Day, drawing people from 25 communities from the
Chicagoland area. TKC has
also coordinated several corporate events for organizations like Allstate
