The Kindness Connection is one of the top 20 ways to "make a difference in a small but significant way." -The Chicago Tribune l August 19, 2007
Since 2006, The Kindness Connection®has
reached over 20,000 youth volunteers through 55 schools and
organizations, and delivered nearly 30,000 handmade projects to 40
non-profits around the world. Additionally, TKC has hosted 14 public
events, including its Annual Martin Luther King Service Day, drawing
people from 25 communities from the Chicagoland area. TKC has also provided corporations like Allstate Insurance, CVS/Caremark, BCG Consulting, and Northwestern University with convenient, onsite volunteer activities for their employees.
People all over the Chicagoland area have made a kindness connection by creating
blankets and fleece pillows for children in foster care; writing and
illustrating board books for children in Head Start programs; providing
footwear to women and girls in Rwanda; making key chains for new Habitat
for Humanity homeowners; and writing notes of gratitude to veterans; to
name just a few of their many contributions. These personalized gifts
then meet the needs and warm the hearts of thousands of individuals who
receive them locally and around the world.
