Learn More About The Kindness Connection

The Kindness Connection inspires youth to be lifelong volunteers!

Our Story

The Kindness Connection started as a vision of two Wilmette, IL mothers who wanted to find meaningful age-appropriate volunteer projects to do with their children. Armed with the belief that young children have as much to give and learn from community service as older children, The Kindness Connection was born. Since 2006, The Kindness Connection has reached 35,000 youth volunteers through 75 schools and organizations, and delivered over 45,000 handmade projects to 40 nonprofits around the world

Our Impact

The Kindness Connection®(TKC) is an innovative non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Evidence shows that children who volunteer go on to be more giving of their time and resources. With the lack of hands-on service opportunities for young children, TKC fills the gap by providing turnkey, tangible service experiences for children. By creating meaningful gifts for veterans, seniors, youth and animals, children develop a foundation for a life filled with kindness and giving. TKC hosts public events, including its Annual Martin Luther King Service Day, drawing people from 25 communities from the Chicagoland area.

TKC has also coordinated several corporate events for organizations like Allstate Insurance, Morningstar, The Boston Consulting Group, CVS Caremark, and Northwestern University.
